Nothing in return

To love and not to be loved back can break any human heart.

No matter if you’re young or old.

The excruciating cracking sound of

 The heart breaking only our ears can hear it.

It happens to best of us.

Not expecting it to happen to us,

But only hearing about it happening to others

There is no advice to help you through it

How can they say

For us to get over it

To say being happy is the sweetest revenge

When I don’t even know what happy is

Because I became numb, unaware

Of the feeling during the process of my heart breaking

When in reality the only way I can heal is if you love me in return

When really there is no chance of it happening

That’s the painful reality

The hard cold truth

The one we need to accept

That although we gave our love

They gave nothing in return
